Wordless Wednesday: A Day in the Life (Continued)

I've spent just as long posting this as I did living it. Maybe even longer. Last week, I left you with a little lunch and laundry. Here's the rest of the story:

2 P.M. - 4 P.M. After lunch, I nursed Little M some more, and he fell asleep, so I was able to get some writing done. When I'm just sitting on the couch and Little M falls asleep, I usually have the best luck if I lay him down right next to me. The only problem then is that I'm stuck. I can't leave the couch, because this kid is pretty mobile.

Today, he took a gloriously long nap, and I was able to get a lot done. When he wakes up, he sits up right away and looks confused.

and then I get a sweet smile.

4 P.M. to 5 P. M. I took Little M to the bathroom, where he played with his feet.

I guess I get distracted by random things too, because I decided it was high time to clean my sink.So I cleaned my bathroom sink. And the toilets. And the shower. I got sidetracked.
The kitchen sink needed some work too.
Little M played happily while I cleaned.
And the kitchen looked much better. (Remember the before picture? Well, this is the after)
5 - 5:30 P.M. But then it was time for dinner, so I had to mess it up again. I put ingredients for some pseudo-falafel in the food processor.

Little M played with the olive oil.
I looked at my to-do list again. Hmmm.... it wasn't a very successful to-do list day. But while I got dinner ready, I installed Photoshop Elements on my computer. Check!

5:30-5:45 P.M. Then it was time to relax and wait for the boys to get home. Little M loves animal books.
Sully waited by the door.
5:45 P.M. The boys are home!
Baby T telling me about his day:
6 - 6:30 P.M. We let Baby T play outside by himself, and all of a sudden he was at the back door looking a little mischievous.
So we let him paint.
And this is when having your camera on you all day pays off. I snapped the best picture ever.
6:30-7:30 P.M. Dinner with the crazy boys

And a lot of playing.
Who, me?

Tackle!
Smile!

Baby T playing the "compuno"

7:30 P.M. And although this looks like playing, it's actually night night time.

In the big boy bed (for tonight).

7:45-10 P.M. That's pretty much the end of my day, folks. After Baby T goes to bed, I usually crack a beer, do some writing, and nurse Little M to sleep. Which can take 15 minutes or 150 minutes. Or all night. There is no picture-taking of the sleeping Little M. I don't even change his diaper at night, much less shine a flash in his eye! So I'll share this last picture taken just before bed.

Good night.

I really enjoyed both parts of this! It's always a treat to have a sneak peek into the homes of similarly minded families. I'm pretty impressed by how much you managed to get done in a day! Little M is certainly a laid back dude :)

Thanks everyone! I'm glad you enjoyed the very long day in my life. I actually feel like this was a bad mommy day because as I look back at it, I realize I didn't do much playing with Little M. He rode along while I did my mommy things. It's funny how standing back and looking at the pictures can make you see more than when you're actually living it.

You are super-woman!! Just taking the pictures was enough of an accomplishment, but you cleaned and made wonderful, fresh food for your family too! The picture of you and the two boys is absolutely gorgeous!! I love this photo journal of your day.

This is so fun. I always wonder what people do all day! And when I say "people," I mean "grown-ups." ;) Now I know why my house isn't clean — it's because I don't do it! It all makes sense now…

I really like how you let Little M play with all the neat things around him. Like olive oil. I bet that was fun to look at as it sloshed viscously around.

You are so hard on yourself! Baby M will tell you when he wants more one on one play time. For now, he is CLEARLY happy with all the love, nursing, household items, potty time, playtime, and exploration time you give him.

If I have a second kid, I pray he is like M. He just hangs out while you clean??!! Miles never did that. :)

xo!

What a fun post (last week's too)! I enjoy having a peek into your everyday life — nothing special, but full of reasons for smiling. Also, I like seeing the life of a WAHM with two little ones. I'm terrified that my life is going to fall apart with the birth of my second in a few months....

@ Rachael: My life did fall apart at first. Have you ever read the posts from soon after Little M was born? I was a wreck and was sure no one was every supposed to be outnumbered by their kids. But it gets better. It was only utter chaos for maybe 2 months. Now it's just gentle chaos.

@ Rye: He is climbing up my legs as I write this.

@ Lauren: I only clean when it is all Little M allows me to do. I get sick of typing one-handed.
