Last week, Baby T and I were playing outside in the late afternoon when he spotted our neighbor playing with her friend near a drainage ditch. Of course, he had to find out what the kids were doing. It turns out they were plucking apart the cattails that grow in the ditch, floating them into the air in a feathery, winter-like dance. It was magical.
Baby T thought so too.

It really must have been magical - the photos are amazing! I remember the first time I saw cattails, since they didn't grow anywhere near where I grew up. I was so taken with them! It looks like they have a similar effect on baby T.
What fun! I love the look of pure joy on Baby T's face. :-) Several years ago, my hubby and I were on a ride and saw the most beautiful cattails. We decided to pick some to bring home for a natural display. We put them in the trunk and rode on. When we got home (the next day) we opened the trunk and ... the cattails had opened up. A beautiful cloud of fuzzy white surrounded us. We instantly turned into kids again.

These are great, it almost looks like snow.
@Mallory I know! That's what Baby T was calling it. (Not that he's ever really seen snow...) I had no idea cattails could do that.
Those pictures are priceless. They came out beautiful.
I love the second to last one. I wonder what cottontails taste like? LOL!

I have never done that — now I know what I need to put on my must-do list! :)
That looks like magical fun, and what a beautiful intensity to his face.
